Financial services sector grows by 22 per cent in 12 months
Feb 27th, 2010 | By maltainc | Category: Financial ServicesThe financial services sector has grown by 22 per cent over the 12 months to last September, and Finance Minister, Tonio Fenech, said he believes there is still a lot of potential growth, especially in such value added areas as portfolio management, fund administration and captive insurance.
Mr Fenech was addressing the Fimbank Trade Finance and Correspondent Banking Conference held yesterday.
He said that offering Islamic finance from Malta’s shores is another possibility. “Considering our geographic proximity, EU membership, existing investment links, and good relationships trade finance is also an area we can develop further.” [...]
