Malta Enterprise: Helping industry help itself

The government-appointed task force on industry has been negotiating aid packages with about 30 companies since it was set up in February, Malta Enterprise chairman Alan Camilleri told The Times Business.

Joe Said has been elected chairman of the Malta Bankers Association during the elected organisation’s AGM.  The other board members are Edward Cachia, Marcel Cassar, Muge Cergel, Tonio Depasquale, Cenk Kahraman, Ozgur Ozdemir, Alan Richards, Victor Rizzo Giusti, Anthony Schembri and Joaquim da Silva Pinto.

EU survey points to pick-up in Malta manufacturing, exports

Malta supports Iceland's EU bid

Malta supports Iceland’s EU membership bid, noting that its eventual entry into the euro area would help buffer the country’s economy, which is currently badly hit by the international financial crisis.
This was confirmed by Foreign Minister Tonio Borg who is currently attending the monthly Council of Ministers meeting.
