3% increase in Maltese flag registration

There was an increase of 3 per cent in the number of yachts under 24m registered under a Malta flag, bringing the total as at June 2009 to 2,187.
Transport Minister Austin Gatt said that the increase came despite the current global economic downturn, which has certainly affected the number of registered yachts.
